one thing i wish they'd do is bring back good ol' "SegaSonic" to appeal to the Japanese fans. basically i'm talking about the design from 1993-1997-ish design with the super pointy spikes and shoe buckles. he looked like that in quite a few promotional things broadcasted in japan during that era of Sonic CD, etc.

I definitely find SegaSonic more appealing than...well, hotdog lips.

Though this cover art for the EU release of Sonic 3 actually looks pretty neat. he doesn't have that downright fugly mascot design like the others

but i do like that they made a few good touchups to the new Classic Sonic design. They lengthened his spines and made his head a bit fuller.
