Wayforward:

>> discovers music project that's a tribute to Contra
>> contacts the person in charge (Jake Kaufman)
>> offers him to help them make a new addition to the Contra series (Contra IV)
>> makes more profit, AND brings more attention to the creative portion of the effort (Jake Kaufman)

Sega:

>> discovers fan game that's a tribute to classic Sonic games
>> contacts the person in charge (Christian Whitehead)
>> offers him to remake three classic Sonic games as well as make an official Sonic game that will be marketed to retro and modern fans alike
>> makes more profit, AND brings more attention to the creative portion of the effort (Christian Whitehead)

Nintendo:

>> poorly-manages the competence of lawyers
>> shuts down any fan-made content they can find because they feel threatened that people will make bigger profit than them
>> ignores the desires of fans in general

One of these game companies is lacking in ethics. not like Konami, but still not ethical enough. i know we live in a dog-eat-dog society, but to be denied of expressing your appreciation towards something you like is really inane.
