It really depends on how meshes are stored in the unity assets, and if each element of a stage is a single mesh or is subdivided in multiple objects. So using the usual method to extract the 3d models with the various tools may lead to obtain a mess (each object is placed in the x,y,z=0,0,0 position), it even happened to me. Sometimes if you are lucky the meshes mantain the correct position.
Another way to solve this is to use an emulator like bluestark and so on, and ripping the stages using ninja ripper, 3d ripper dx or other ripping tools.
