I think Petie pretty much covered what I was gonna say - right down to the hourly changes. It's a matter of the site forcing to update the cache on things like that (member usergroup changes)
Also hiding the forum was actually one of the things I argued to death - while it does prevent new users from seeing into the forum and that does suck, it prevents two things:
- Users posting their own requests in other people's request topics as replies,
- Abusing this with "me too thanks" posts, gaming the system to get to 50 posts this way
But uhm, yeah I'm kinda baffled - did you at any point consider before posting "Yeah, I'm just gonna tell the staff that I posted a bunch of spam just so I could get to the limit" That's kinda shooting yourself in the foot lol
