You do realize that the thread you were linked to does, in fact, explain the long wait, right? There are hundreds (or, on sounds, thousands) or pending submissions. Some have been there for months and closing in on a year. Our staff is very small and volunteers their time to go through the massive number of submissions we receive. They do so when they're able to out of love for the community and content. Patience is a virtue, especially when it comes to getting your work on the site. Providing icons, as you seem to have done, is a great way to get your stuff looked at a bit quicker though.
