Nah, the heads are supposed to be that big :p
Okay, I'll work more on these. I hope it'll encourage people to take them :p

This is why I made that argument a few pages back about artistic license;
The proportions are correct, but their heads are so small you can't properly give them any emotion (ex. Ike, Marth, Captain Falction). That's why you make them larger: It allows for more expression, and it makes the characters look more cartoony, fitting with the general style of Smash Brothers.

I think if you cannot see a character's eyes, it is not a good sprite, correct proportions or otherwise.
