I would speculate it was rejected more due to how difficult it is to do anything with the sheet. Sprites are in no particular order, some are rotated and they're not aligned in any way. Unfortunately there's probably not much you can do about it unless you have access to some sort of reference table from the game that specifies the coordinates, size, padding and rotation of each sprite.
