Ooh! I remember Mario Paint from back in the day. I wasn't too good at making anything, from what I can remember, but if there's one thing I always loved about it and could get into, it was the fly swatter game. It was a blast. 
Even when I died, I never got upset 'cause I found the death animation positively hilarious. The game had so much charm, whether I won or lost I didn't care.
