Thanks for responding! I ended up using Macromedia Director as you mentioned. What I did was use dirOpener to convert the .cxt to .cst files. (Unsure if that conversion is actually necessary.)
Anyway I opened the cast files with Macromedia and put them on a blank stage. Then I just exported them as .bmp and made sure to select all frames. It took some time to organize them in Photoshop but I got it. I had tried nosamu's cast ripper but it kept crashing for me unfortunately.
