So I've been looking to rip some of the models from Gunfire Reborn and found that it has the majority of its game files located within the StreamingAssets\assetbundles folder. These files appear to be without an extension. You need to delete the first 50 binary characters from all the files - they seem to be some kind of keys for the developers and upon deleting those, you should be able to access it using AssetStudio.
I've been looking around for help regarding this but most Unity ripping tutorials would lead me to the .assets files within the <game>_Data folder but most of the files found in them are related to UI and menus.
I'm fairly certain I was able to open these assetbundle files back in about 2022 using AssetStudio, but attempting to now will result in either "No Unity file can be loaded" or an infinite "Process Assets" message. I'm not sure if this is related to something I'm doing wrong or if something has changed with the files as the game has been updated over the years.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
Thanks for your response. I actually figured this out later in the same week this thread was posted lol.
For anybody else wanting to do this: use a Hex Editor to delete these characters so UnityFS is the new header of the file. However, there are over 2500 files in the StreamingAssets folder so changing each one individually is a time consuming process.
