- Should y'all even think discord is 100% safe & won't get a update that'll ruin everything?
Bottom line, I don't think closing the forums in favor of discord isn't a good idea
I get where you're coming from, but I think a lot of that might be a bit exaggerated.
- Yes, you'll have to cough up and pay for Nitro to upload larger files. But there are a lot of other services you can use to upload files, two of the probably the most common being Google Drive and MEGA. Plus, the server is currently at a level 2, so you can already upload files up to 50MB, so you would only need to use the other services in extreme cases.
- I can't speak for the admins/mods, but I'm quite sure there is a level of verification on the server for this; Discord alone has this itself. There's no need to target Dazz like that, I'm sure the majority of Discord users have considered the possibility of their account being compromised, that's why there's 2FA and stuff. There's no need to be so arrogant there.
- The Discord server has been active for quite a long time now, and I can say I've never seen anything like that. That's such a niche and specific issue that people wouldn't be worrying about that. I'm not straight up dismissing that, but it's quite unlikely.
- That's quite unlikely and rather specific, too. Sure, Discord has had some bad updates in the past, but it's nothing to straight-up ruin the entire platform for everyone.
While it’s sad to see the forums go, I still think switching over to Discord makes sense. It’s just a lot easier to converse with people there in real time compared to traditional forums.
