well, it just doesn't make sense. It has many flaws that can't be remedied as easily as "just because",

such as Dark Gaia being stronger when he comes back even though he was just sealed in the earth, leaving him powerless

, or eggman turning sonic into the werehog again even though he knows that sonic is still capable of beating him in that form and isn't susceptible to corruption.
