Not really. I'm the one responsible for Sworm, the water starter. Or at least its current sprite seen here.
I would just like to note, that, to my knowledge, there is only one grass-type reptillian starter Pokemon. Treeko's evolution line. This is original. Get used to an imagination, because some people are blessed with it.
I share your oppinion on the fire starter.
As for Sworm, it does evolve into something similar to what Anubis described. Please also understand that this game is in its EARLY STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT. People who judge a young game by its sprites, are greatly misguided. Few have the time for both bug reduction and sprites. Clower is still using its concept art!
And yes, Clower is a clover growing out of a stump which looks remarkably like a pile of tergus faecem.
Hehe I love Latin.
Well according to your knowledge, dinosaurs and turtles aren't reptiles. And with that knowledge you don't seem to know that bulbasaur and chikorita lines are obviously reptile related, and not knowing turtwig(a turtle) and other pokemon makes me stumped on why make a pokemon game when you can't even remember the starters? And the one who needs to get used to an imagination is you sir, because at the "current" state of your water starter, it's the most unoriginal out of the 3 sprites. It's just a tiny blue worm-thing.
And I can already see at the "current" level you guys were at with pokemon designs and names, they were not gonna be much better than what you already had. What me and other posters were giving above were criticism on where to improve on, and your first priority is the pokemon. I'm not misguided because I've worked on a pokemon game before, so I know what the hell I'm talking about.
What we're trying to say, and ONLY trying to say: The pokemon designs look bad, the names are bad, and the sprites look bad.
And with that, the game is malus peior pessimus.
Hehe I love Latin.
