Sins of a Solar Empire isn't bad (Bar the broken diplomacy, but that should be fixed in the next (And probably final) expansion. However if you want a campaign. This game isn't for you.

If you like having time to do other stuff than play the game, it probably isn't for you either.

yeah, I could never really get into AoE2 (though my friends love it), but Rise of Nations was easy to pick up and enjoy for me. Don't really know how well it stands in multiplayer vs type stuff since I am awful at playing against other people in RTS games and only play co-op, but it's fun for what I've played it for.
