Why is sidescolling MMO confusing? Just because it's Megaman X? Aren't there enough of these to prove they have demand?

I may have been more open to this if the X MMO was in 3-D since Command Mission was a decent RPG. But I don't see this MMO working as a sidescroller especially if this ends up one of those MMOs where you can't play as the characters who made the franchise until later in the game (if at all).
