What got you into spriting/pixel art?

well... since i was small i've always had the opportunity to play on a computer, but it was in my early teens that i had a breakthrough with the help of gamemaker: i realised i could make things for games, my games. it fed my metroid fanatism (i made a lot of splices/edits then customs), and i then discovered its derivation, pixel art. there's something very unique about pixel art, and it as well as the artists has greatly helped me in becoming a better artist imo.
