Its true. But it goes to show you that even Game Freak believes that starters (at least the first form) should walk if they gave the Snake legs. Also remember that Snakes used to have legs then evolved without them. This would be the same case with the Dolphin Pokemon if it wins.

lets wait till we have our final starter, then, sudgest other pokemon, I do like the elephant, so that would most likely be a normal pokemon.

Boy they're neck and neck! I already made some sketches for the hose nose Desman. I think because they are so close that even if one loses it will still be made into a regular Pokemon anyway.

What I'm thinking of for the hippo is to sort of base it on the Egyptian Goddess Taweret
It could have the eye markings and headdress thing

because, like crocodiles, hippos were also in the Egyptian Nile, and I also think they were worshiped like the crocodile by the Egyptians, so it makes sence.

EDIT: also, if we do the Egyptian Goddess thing, for the male, should we make more like a pharaoh, since, having a male wear women's clothing, would be weird...

What if the hippo were based on a swimming pool or something? Like it's back is hollow and filled with water. As it evolves it could develop pool accessories until there's a full blown water park on its back.

Just throwing out an idea.

Well, thing is, Pokémon are supposed to be sort of like animals so I don't think plastic and metal and stuff would grow out of it's back.

Arent Blastoise's cannons made of some sort of metal or something? Or what about the pokemon made out of metal themselves? And that purple bug/steel 5th gen with the cannon.

True lots of Pokemon have accessories to them. Hell there's a Pokemon that carries a plank of wood and evolves to carry various other things.

Anyway just in case Desman pulls through I got another crappy concept art here.

Very lame but it gives you an idea about the hose nose. It originally had three wavey stripes on it's back but they made him look even weirder.

Hmm, Egyptian Hippo... I just looked at the wiki page for Egyptian gods and there's no mention of a hippo.

But just in case... Hippoah? (Like pharoah)
