Walls of text are OFFENSIVE. Hence, you'll just have to pretend what used to be here. Don't make jokes or puns out of it....

BASIC HUVery Sad
[Image: sgrax3.png]
This is regular crap. Instead of the command bar thingy from BBS, I came up with this thing called "Command Synergy", which I have no idea how it'll actually work, but I guess its something like killing enemies, and with each kill, number goes up. When it reaches 100%, you get to kick ass. If your ass is kicked, and goes below 0%, then you can't do shit until you "Debug" out of the "O.S. Glitch." Whatever. There's also some other stuff in there, like reaction commands. As for Roxas' faceshot and HP bar, that particular shot is from really really old Famitsu scans when Days was early in development. I tried my best to restore it since I didn't just wanna slap some random shot from someplace else. As for "special powers", I figured, KH2 and especially BBS...shit's got too many bars to keep track of! Command bar, focus bar, HP bar, D-Link bar, FUCK! So, I made it simple: all the crazy battle system features are ruled by a single Limit bar. Includes: Limits, obviously. F-Links, which allows you summon party members from other worlds, giving you a huge party. Sleights, the same system of Chain of Memories - sort of like Command Melding in the heat of battle. And Reaction Combos, kind of like Overclock finishers from Re:coded. Anyways, most of this shit is completely custom, save for a few fonts: the numbers are retooled from Chain of Memories, and the text I sprited entirely myself, but based it off of BBS. The Roxas face shot I restored from an uber early version of Days from Famitsu scans..

LIMIT BREAKS:

The Limit Break function in Days fucking sucked, and was lame. So I figured I'd give it a new spin. Gameplay wise, I suppose it'd work like this: You got a full limit bar, select a Limit Break, and you get to spam it. During limit break time, you can't use deck commands. When the limit break gauge fills up, you get to use a limit break finisher. Then, it's empty, and you go again. All the while, the *other* Limit gauge near Roxas slowly depletes. You'll prolly get like two shots or something til its out. Anyways, as for the sprites, everything in here is 100% custom made, save for the Full Bloom and Raging Storm ones. Full Bloom uses a portion of Marluxia's scythe, while Raging Storm uses a flame effect from The World Ends With You. Oh, and also, I went with "Speed Rave" since it doesn't sound as faggy as "Fever Pitch."

Reaction Combos:
The only real redeeming feature of Re:coded are Overclock finishers. When the OC gauge is maxed out, you get a little prompt that you gotta clear, and if you do it fast enough, you'll kick serious ass. Same thing here, really. Very self-explanatory. Everything in here is 100% custom made.

So, here you guys go. I'm not sure I'll submit this to the main page or anything, but if you guys wanna do something with it, feel free. I made it, I got nothing to do with it, so maybe someone else might. EXCEPT for TheSpriter: You're annoying. You can't have em. T_T

dumb and useless bunch of nothing.

Can you trim down your post? Like, by a lot? Not only is all the excess fucking revolting to read through (mostly because of the attitude displayed throughout the post), but most of it is absolutely useless. I don't need to know that you make fun of RTB's username, that you're "an arrogant sunovabitch", I'm more interested in what actually pertains to the material you're trying to get help with.

Hmm... Interesting. T'was very easy for you to pick out any one of the 20 threads lying around that are just a bunch of Naruto and Bleach recolors.

Why bother posting? You can at least make it constructive or something.

Oh, don't worry! My giant wall of text that says absolutely nothing really, and is 100% non-obligatory! Don't worry, you don't have to read it.

As for this? Not really asking for help or anything... Just giving some stuff away that I have no use for. But, not exactly a submission either. Just...whatever. You guys do what you want with it.

You should include a tl;dr version, really. A description -is- necessary to understand what you've made, and to determine what parts are custom for the sake of confusion

Metaru's post actually was constructive because he's saying that making "bars" for "imaginary games" is a waste when you could be doing things to really improve yourself. It's especially not a smart idea to post them here because that's what this section is really about; improving.

Regardless, the reactions are super banded and super ugly, I can't read the limit that starts with an A, red rave's gradient is really not-good (on the left detail), and element blade is just kind of ugly overall. It looks like you tried to gradient red into green and that kind of makes a gross color, plus it lacks style compared to the others

Soo...I've gone into unnecessary detail, but I've still included the information that's required... Don't crucify me for my finickiness. Cry

My bad - that was before the edit. That post was mainly aimed at /■/. For being a moderator, he outright with one post broke like...four rules, which I'm certain, any other member would get at least a week's worth of ban-time over... Not awesome. Anyways, my post was edited to clarify what was directed at whom.

Oh, and also...I almost somewhat resent that! Not all of this is bars... =.= That'd be lame and cringeworthy. Besides, I have no illusions about my spriting skills: I can't do bodily proportions worth a damn, and if I can, it's lucky usually. So, instead of pointlessly try to do something and fail, which I have many times, I at the very least try some crap that I can do. Whnn people make games, or whatever, having a user interface that aids the process and blends in well is just as important as any background or character sprite. At least, in a visual sense. It wouldn't make much sense if you were playing Devil May Cry, and the HUD was from Barbie's Unicorn Adventures.

I understand that there is a...certain niche here. But, I have my own personal niche too. And in that sense, I want to improve in that area. Can't convince a swimmer to abandon swimming and take up ju jitsu.

The one with the A is "All-Vanity." I'm thinking it's maybe your monitor? It shows up perfectly fine on mine. I initially wanted to emulate the standard KH2 logo font, but went with something more "thorny." For references, I'm currently running on an iMac with maximum brightness and contrast settings. It also shows up fine, perfectly readable on my crappy Vaio laptop.

The Red Rave thing, I see exactly what you mean - the individual gradient bands are two-pixels too thick - I'll fix that. Thanks.

As for Element Blade.... Embarassed What's this "Element Blade" thing you're talking about? I don't see anything. Never heard of it. Doesn't exist. You're obviously quite delusional. *deletes*

On a sidenote, I'm also starting to dislike the Full-Bloom graphic as well - it originally seemed to blend well, but for some reason some pixels from the scythe...just sort of stick out in an ugly way.

People sometimes post too much information then they post tl;dr: *enter summary here*. It's convenient for everyone

Um, metaru and /■/ are the same person. We were talking about the same person. I don't think anyone would get banned for that because there's an explanation behind what he said. You might not have understood so that's why I tried to explain it to you.

No, it's not my monitor it's just the way you chose to do the letters. The white bar under the dash can easily be mistaken for something that's supposed to be text, the V is stylized and kind of looks like a Y or something else, and the t is especially hard to read.

I think the problem with red rave is actually that it's too pinkish and it lacks contrast.

Also a word of advice, I can handle it just fine but the other members are going to think you're trying to dodge/pick and choose advice. It doesn't matter what you mean to do, it's how they're going to take it, I can tell. So, be a little careful with that, they don't like to be questioned because they know what they're doing and they don't like to take the time out to explain everything, heheh.

Oh. When I hit preview you made an edit. Um, if you have trouble doing bodies then that's the point of trying and getting help. I think it'd be more productive than doing HUDs. I mean, if these were for a game that'd be fine, but there's better things out there for practice. Plus I don't really think anyone else would have a use for these, I don't exactly see a lot of KH fangames let alone one that would specifically use this system.

Y'are handing it just fine. Cute In fact, I fail to see how my retorts to critique would really piss anyone off unless they're looking to be offended. In which case...anger management. T_T

Looking at it even more now, I think I made Red Rave even worse by giving it a paler gradient... I'll prolly entirely rework it now that I think on it.

Also, not to sound like a pretentious dick or anything, even though I know I will because I'm already being scanned for being a pretentious dick, but roughly 90% of the stuff hosted on Spriter's Resource is, well, generally completely unused towards anything, really. But, you know what, it's still there, it's nice to have, and y'never know when it'll come in handy. I like to take the same approach with this, and honestly, it's ironic: I rip a relatively bland UI from Re:coded, and people are satisfied, and all "Good job, Q!" or something. Then, I go out, and post the exact same thing, albeit I made it myself, and all of the sudden, it's offensive! It's a bunch of nothing!

See something wrong with that picture, man? T_T In any case, no matter how much anyone wants to be a penis in here about it, truth is I ain't changing shit in an effort to make somebody's bed warmer at night. This thread is still in here. It still contains what it contains, and is open for anyone who wants to use it credit-free (and admit it, someone offering CUSTOM sprites without asking credit? It's just not right to be mean towards someone like that...), and open to anyone who wants to contribute and/or help by making it better. I always appreciate, and try to make the best out of anyone's criticisms or critiques, given that they're actually helpful and constructive
