How to animate sprites

Well, i wan't to make an animated show of sprites, but i don't know how to animate without downloading things. I heard that you could animated with paint and window movie maker, but i don't know how. please help!

http://www.iaza.com/ is a good site for animating things. The animator is very easy to use and offers quite a few frames to work with.
