How do you guys feel about the current forum smileys?
I feel like contributing to this forum and I thought it could use some new emoticons. Maybe even animated ones..
Feel free to use the template.

Hey i want to remake the emoticons to.
I HAVE AN IDEA.
Sometime in summer, I request a sprite comp in which you create a new set of smileys for tSR. The winner, of course, gets to see his smileys used on the board.
Anyway, about the sprites: I think you can go a bit further and... I don't understand the first and last expressions. <:/
I've done an edit:
I've tweaked the palette and added variations to it, I hope it gives you some ideas!

I agree that the TSR emotes need an update. However, I think as it stands your emotes are a little too small. Making them closer in size to the current emotes should increase readability.
I like the summer contest idea! I would enjoy a laid back contest such as that.

Definitely endorsing this smiley competition. We should hold it near the beginning of summer since the next TUGS will take place during the duration of summer.
And these look really nice, man. Good work conveying emotion at such a small size!
It's the same competition we had when we opened the forum!!
So sure, why not?
I happen to like our current emotes, but if you guys WANT to make better ones, I see no problems with that.

Who won the original emoticon comp again? I forget :<
something's telling me that they're Sol's sprites but at the same time I feel very very very wrong about this :CCC

Yeah, it was Sol.
And Dazz, if everyone still wanted to keep Sol's sprites, we could just add another set of smilies to the smiley list, perhaps with names like :happyset2: rather than just the regular one.

I wouldn't mind new smilies, but I really like the current set.
I like how they're rather large and are really readable. The proposed ones posted above don't have really good readability (in my opinion) and I don't like them as much.
This reminds me; I wanted to reopen my new smilies thread that i made last year. I still have my progresssheets from that, so maybe I'll do that...

Maybe this new competition could keep the current style (or maybe improve on it a little) but focus more on making new faces and expressions instead of a whole new batch of the same faces.

This is essentially what I was working on a year ago.
Adding onto the current style with new content.
Like I said, I really like the current set, though a couple of them could be improved a little.
Perhaps a simple revamp is in order as opposed to a total re-do.
