Hey guys. I'm having a tiny (Actually, BIG!!) problem: I cannot rip sprites from Grandia, or Xenogears.
I've booted up the ISO onto Daemon's Tools, and ran PSicture on it, however it only rips the battle backgrounds. I made sure to specify every single file type in the ISO to scan, however, still only the battle backgrounds!!
What could I have possibly done wrong with PSicture? I even downloaded the Vagrant Story plug-in in a 2 cents of hoping it fixes the problem, but it doesn't!
ANY help in figuring out how to rip sprites from Grandia is HIGHLY appreciated! And I know it's possible because this thread mentions something about ripping from it using PSicture, and even has ripped sprites!!

VRAM should do the job at least for the portraits. I tried ripping per screens and it's horrible to handle the leftovers.

Nothing is wrong. Depending on the game, you get everything (Thrill Kill, Jade Cocoon, Eternal Eyes, Granstream Saga, etc.), a few parts (Grandia) or nothing (Wild Arms).

Is there any way to find the palette for the textures I've been trying to rip? I've moved the cursor through at least 1000 different colors, and I cannot match it up with what it gives in the screenshot!
Is there a least a way to doom in?

Move horizontally 16 pixel and vertically 1.

Portraits and part of the textures are easy to get, the rest is horrible or/and tedious. For example, the other textures have different palettes for single pieces which requires a very good eye for colours.

I understand my problem now. I was using button 9 instead of 0 for the floor textures.. However, what do you use for finding the wall textures though? 9 or 0?

You can see it through the resolution. If it looks scrambled, switch the mode.

I am a noob when it comes to moding and hacking games but I had an idea to use the mugen to create a Xenogears mod (xenofighters). this would be a game like little fighter and Valkery Fight tag. I plan for the game to have a large roster including alternate forms of some chars unlocked by holding start at the char select screen. I would like the roster to be:
Fei / ID
Citan / w Sword
Elly / Sophia
Bart
Billy
Rico
Emerelda / Young Emerelda
Chu-Chu
Wiseman (Hidden)
Big Joe

Dominia Yizkor

the game would have a 6 button control system
H Attack
M Attack
L Attack
Jump-Dash(not a jump nor run but a leap too or from the enemy)
Block
Doge
I see the game having five super bars and I also would like the supers to stay true to the original game
Death blows- 1 or 2 bars
Super Crossover (Chain one death blow into another) - 1 bar up to cancels
Special Ability (arcaine, ether, chi, items exc.) 1 or 2 bars
Call Gear - 3 bars
I am watching videos and reading up on the subject and I see that a project of this size is extremely hard to pull off alone and would take a long time to complete. if any other Xenogears fans would like to help please feel free to contact me via Email. I guess all I'm actually asking for is xenogears sprites, all of the ones I can get. if not a way to get them myself (a way that works)
