Before anyone else mentions anything else, I still think no one is giving the 3ds a chance.
I know it's hard with the games it has right now but the reason why nintendo is being fucking moronic is because no one is really looking at other things for the 3ds.
Uh, what is "other things?"

Maybe if there were other things, we'd look at them
Oh but wait, there's not.

I think most of you aren't aware that is also a promotion for monster hunter 3DS (could be the other way around too), I don't think it'll be a mandatory thing for most games, besides things like button alternatives (like psp playing ps1 games) are always an option for those who have older models. Not like you'll have to throw away your current 3DS.
I can understand some of the butthurt since it's worser this time but this is still Nintendo, constantly release stupid add-on/remodel shit in a short period of time (not like nintendo can ever keep their word on shit anyway). People will still continue to eat this shit up (especially this since its being released with MH). I'm honestly not surprised at this point after the price drop shit.

I bet you they did this when they realized people weren't especially thrilled to develop for it when the Vita already had modern controls. The sad thing is that many people are probably going to buy this too.
I was a loyal Nintendo fanboy for a longtime until I actually tried playing a console that WASN'T constantly trying silly gimmicks and relying on the popularity of old IP's to do anything. They've gotten stuck up because they expect people to buy their stuff. And people do. As far as games go, that's not to say that Nintendo is the only developer doing that type of thing, but they certainly lost a lot of my faith a while ago.
I don't doubt that some of their new games are good, but when they want me to buy a system that I know they're just going to revise to be better every year (Though I didn't expect to this extent) or a system with controllers that likely cost over a hundred dollars by themselves. As bad as they are for their own reasons, I think I'll stick with Sony and Microsoft consoles. Worst case, PC gaming never steers me wrong.

this is one of those things I was talking about. (granted there is an option to let you play without the fucking add on)
that and you still have a slew of games like Luigi's Mansion 2, Kid icarus, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario land 3d, Metal gear, and other games coming out soon or next year.
and you still have a few other features to keep you occupied until then, it's a matter of time until you see it's full potential.

Those upcoming games don't mean shit to me if I have to buy the console and the add-on to play them

Like the monster hunters 3ds game. IT'S PROBABLY OPTIONAL. And I repeat, it probably won't be very expensive. If they're trying to fix up a system with enhancements, I REALLY don't see the problem, and I know what everyone has said and why its still a problem, and why they're just out to get money now, BUT
1. There is a sleuth of great games coming out soon.
2. Most likely it'll be optional.
3. I guess I don't get mad at stuff like this because I think the positive outweighs the negative.
4. Have a little faith for once guys, this whole thread is thrashing the 3ds as a failed gimmick when its a wonderful system.
:C
5. I'm willing to bet if for KOF XIII or whatever big expected main console game coming out required you to buy some sort of add on for your system, I'm willing to bet people would not give a shit.
Thats all I have to say, take it as you will, I expect a thrashing.
Love you guys, don't give me to big of a thrashing heh

This statement is pretty moronic since these games I have mentioned have been in development before the 3ds even came out.
Flannel pretty much mentioned a bunch of other points so I've got nothing else to add.

A lot of people just love to bash Nintendo saying that they aren't what they used to be. But I have found that Nintendo has gotten BETTER over the years! I looked at the list of first party games they released over the years and discovered that the number of games they made for their consoles have increased since the N64.
Yes Nintendo has made more games for the Wii than the N64 and Gamecube.
People also complain about Nintendo releasing new models for people to buy but look! The Famicom actually had 4 different versions and certain games could only run on those models.

Ignoring the debate, well at least there is a L2 button.
this is pretty much an MS paint picture that shows what the add-on should look like on the console.
I still dislike the way it looks aside from the shoulder button positions. but looking at it deeper there is the possibility I will get used to it, it was easy to adjust to the circle pad and D-pad positions.
I'd also like to add, if you look at the photo in the OP, it grooves up like a controller, so it's not just a thick bottom that's a straight plane. It looks like it'd fit just fine for my hand.
Ya know, this reminds me of the Sega CD attatchment, and barely resembles it too. I can say that Nintendo still hasn't learned from their bajillion gimmicks during the NES days. I mean, the Super Scope is better looking than it's predecessor on the NES, but I think Nintendo's pushing it with their add-ons.
The only last good add-on was that controller attachment that you'd slip on your GBA SP. At least this helped those who thought the GBA SP's square appearance impeded one's gameplay.

congratulations you just upgraded your 3DS into a sega dreamcast controller.
