Rayquaza was as similar to Kyogre and Groudon as Kyurem is to Zekrom and Reshiram. So that doesn't really matter at all.

Also, Pikachu and Suicune.

I mean, it's unfair to say Pikachu since there were four Japanese versions.

And it's unfair to say Suicune since there wasn't a third bird to match Ho-Oh and Lugia.

Even so, Zekrom and Reshiram have to do with ying and yang, there is no room for a 3rd thing there at all, not to mention the whole dragons backstory only involves the two of them.

So if they do pick Kyurem, it would be stupid, I mean at least Rayquaza looked like Groudon and Kyogre and like how they could be a trio despite Rayquaza not having to do with Groudon's and Kyogre's backstory. Kyurem doesn't even have the same shape tail, let alone look anything more then a fossil stuck in the side of a mountain while the other two actually look like dragons.

It wouldn't be stupid at all, because then they could give it a backstory. Pokemon Gold and Silver focused on the story of Ho-Oh and Lugia with the three beasts as more of a side quest-- Pokemon Crystal did it differently and focused heavily on the backstory of Suicune.

This is the pattern. It is based on storyline, not likeness.

Kyurem is Wuji, the absence of Yin and Yang. You have the black half and white half of the symbol; Kyurem is the imaginary line between them. He is the Boundary Pokemon. Also, Kyurem's main color is gray and his appearance shares some similarities with that of Reshiram and Zekrom.
There is no way Kyurem isn't the third/zeroth Tao dragon.

Back on topic of the new game, Pokepark Wii 2. Having added multiplayer for up to 4 players is something that should have been in its prequel. You simply can't expect a single player party game to last long. If done right it could easily measure up with the Mario Party franchise. Don't deny you liked playing the minigames in Pokemon Stadium with your friends.

Rayquaza was the Ziz in Hebrew mythology, while Kyogre was The Leviathan and Groudon is the Behemoth. Hebrew mythology was also used for the other legendaries in R/S/E (Regirock/Registeel/Regice). So yeah, they are a "group", the mascot pattern was present, because Rayquaza filled the hole set by the previous two. Sky, Water, Land.

In Taoism there is Yin, Yang and Wuji. Yin and Yang represent opposites, while Wuji is the absence of both. This is even referenced in Kyurem's typing - Dragon/Ice. The cold, the absence of heat, which Electric and Fire produce.

It's also theorized that Kyurem was the corpse that was left behind when Rehisram and Zekrom split, but the game does not give any explanation pertaining to him yet.

I dunno, I kinda like Kyurem.

Interesting note; if you look at Kyurem closely, you'll notice he looks... broken.


His left wing is partially missing, as is one of his horns.


And, one of his tail spikes has been snapped off.

This leads me to think they'll give him another, 'repaired' form (Perhaps it could involve Team Plasma upgrading him, like Genosect??), and make him the mascot of the hypothetical third game, like they did with Platinum.
