Yknow Lunyka, there have been uses of Jesters and Jokers since before then.
For instance, I have always been in love with the Jester because of it's symbol in relation to death.
Harlequins from the Eldar army being a case in point. (Warhammer 40k)

Although I have been a joker fan way before the dark knight, this is nothing to do with him at all. Really it was an idea that came to me about a year ago whenI had to do a project on jesters for History class. Ive loved jesters ever since I can remember.

But I can understand what your coming from though
