Sonic Model Ripping Thread
Is there even any visual difference between the DC and GC Versions of the models? i honestly don't see any the textures are all the same they might be Higher poly but that's still a might...

p.s. Easy, You and Krys seemed to have put forth the most effort i've seen on the NJCM Format is there any thing newer then like 3/4 years ago for a converter/veiwer?

SA2B models have some major differences. Cutscene models are much higher poly in terms of hands, heads, and mouth morphers along with the occasional use of higher quality textures. The in-game models have higher poly heads, but really nothing else. The most notable difference is Sonic and Shadow's ears. They're rounded instead of pointed. And whenever I get around to ripping all of the event textures, I'll post the higher quality ones over in some texture thread.

And as far as the NJCM format goes, Kryslin and SANiK put the most effort into it. It was used in several games, like Sonic Shuffle, PSO, and Skies of Arcadia used a small variant of it by putting them in MLD files. SA2 and SA2B both use the NJCM information, but the compiling program and way they used it was almost entirely different from how it was supposed to be. Kryslin did write a program, MLDnet that worked with SA2 files to a small extent, but it was lost when his hdd became corrupt, and SANiK wrote three programs for the files, but they were buggy, and didn't rip everything. Nothing newer has ever been done, except for MainMemory's current version of SAMDL, which was made possible since SA2's NJCM format was used for some models in SADX, and I knew enough about the format to help MainMemory out with getting support enabled. And because I'm jumping back and forth between school, the Luigi's Mansion mdl format, and SA2B's big endian format, I'm barely having any time to actually accomplish much. So I'm taking it easy for a few days before getting back into the nitty gritty of things.
I post stuff randomly. I hope you people like what gets posted.

Those are likely models that don't conform to the format fully. ExMLDnet isn't that great of a program, but it does what it does. SAMDL only supports SA2 files, And Retro isn't the only way to contact him, you can get on the #x-hax IRC on BadnikNET or whatever it's called.
