Am I the only one who didn't mind the handheld versions? They made car trips pretty enjoyable with my brother. The e-reader one was weird how they made it a physical board game but at the time it was pretty fun. But then again I and those plating it with me were 8 or 9 so if it has Mario in the title we loved it no matter what

Mario Party Advance is geared towards single-player, while Mario Party DS is more like the console entries... but it's wierd.
I mean by the end of the day you're still rolling die, collecting coins, playing mini-games etc, but it still feels heavily watered down. But like Pope says, they are alright at passing the time in a trip.

I just realised I have every handheld mario party games.
Mario Party advance was a great game and had lots of different minigames, and the concept of going around and doing quest really made me continue playing the game.

2 and 3 might've been the best ones, but the others weren't bad in the least. 5, 7 and 8 were awesome and memorable (haven't gotten 6 yet).
I felt asleep playing the gamecube ones.

I felt asleep playing the gamecube ones. Try 5 or 7. I found them more "energetic" in comparison to 4 & 6. 6 is actually pretty good in single player, I found.

I haven't found any Mario game, Party or otherwise, to be "energetic" for a long, long time.

That's not true at all. I love a whole ton of Mario games to death.
But ever since Galaxy, they've felt really bland and uninteresting. Even NSMBWii, and I loved NSMB.

then again, I am kind of a Yoshi fan so... yeah.

It's not the gameplay so much as the aesthetics. Everything just seems really downplayed and drab, and ho-hum.

This is starting to get off topic.
Is there an offical list of minigames?

True Galaxy two was much more beautiful. Probably because space is boring. But Galaxy 2 didn't feel as much like you were in space.
