Boomer Kuwanger has some serious competition here. The best Maverick theme since the first game.

Hey that sounded pretty cool, I should really play a Mega Man game some day. Recommendations?

Mega Man 3 for the NES is the best of the classic series IMO (I'd personally start with the first game and move up though, it's pretty worth it), though since this music is from the X series, start with X1. It has the best soundtrack by far (I just beat X3 and this is the only song that really grabbed me since then). Both series are definitely worth a try at least whichever one you decide.

Here's a fairly obscure but excellent Mega Man X track;

I still have to play that game. I'm not sure when it takes place though.

It takes place way after X8, but you don't have to play the previous games to play Command Mission, only to know about a certain character IIRC. You could start it after X7. This game came out before X8 anyway. And I recommend playing the Gamecube version if you can because it runs at 60fps and has extra content that the PS2 version lacks. That and the PS2 version only runs at 30fps, and is just sluggish.
Yeah, my cousin owns the GCN version and I wanted to try it out. At least I know I can wait until I finish X Collection to play it.
As for X7 and X8, I'd probably have to get the PC versions (if they are in English), since I don't have a PlayStation.

I'm gonna head out and buy a Wii point card tonight for it.

As far as I can tell, they're fine except that I have to keep setting the Dash button back to Y for every game because I can't stand it as the X button. But it's also extremely difficult to hold a weapon charge while wall jumping due to having to hold B with my thumb and also press A with it, let alone adding dash jumping to all that. Because of this, I have to wait until I can land on the ground to even start charging the X Buster which often makes boss fights take longer...

Playing OG Mega Man games ona Nintendo console(Except for Mega Man 8) just feels right despite that.(12-11-2011, 10:33 PM)Whack-Dat-Yoshi Wrote: How are the controls, are they reversed like in Mega Man Anniversary Collection?They aren't, thankfully. Going back to it (as it was one of my first experiences with Megaman), MMAC's almost unplayable due to that. :<

I never had a real problem with jumping with B and shooting with A. I grew used to it before too long I think.
