Sprite Database has a lot of anime rippers, it would be a pity if we rip something that already exists. I know it's not on TSR, but still... it's redundant.
And yeah, I've also watched the oldschool animes like Digimon, Pokemon, DBZ, Ranma, Sailor Moon and so on. No idea about the new ones. I attempted to watch Fairytale (because I like Erza), but the first episode was terrible. So many crappy anime cliches, no thanks.

I'd be up for Disney games! I'm also fond of ripping platformers.
Also, speaking of Digimon, the Digimon World games on the DS have a lot of sprites that could be ripped. I can't seem to get Dusk/Dawn to work though (gets stuck just as I'm about to enter the actual game).

Shoot 'em ups, I can dig that. I had my fair share, with Section-Z, R-Type, and Insector-X (all of which are pretty damn hard, but they could be useful). I could also scout for more obviously obscure games, remember Aladdin for the Game Boy Color?
And robbing other sheets from their exclusitivity can also mean we can fish out errors (and add missing frames) that are in those sheets too. Remember the Sonic S3K sheets? Some of those might need to be revamped/updated, quality was all over the place with some of them.
Now that I think about it: Weekend Round-Up project? We can go back to various games of our choice and clean up the pigsty that was left over from TSR's early years.
Well...
RPGs: Not really familiar with any RPGs except for a select few such as the Mario series ones.
Beat 'em ups: Don't really know any of these either. Then again I don't know what classifies a game as that genre.
Weird platformers: Same as above.
Revive an old project: Can you tell me what old projects we had other than the Genesis Disney one? I wasn't around back in the day, so I don't really know of any.
Suggestions: 2D puzzle games (any platform, like the fighting project), 2D sidescrollers (same as the puzzle idea), a project that focuses on ripping from games that are based on cartoons (CN shows, Nickelodeon shows, etc. etc., and I guess the anime games could go here as well?), or we could have another "most wanted list" like before and it'd be open to suggesting games to be ripped.
There's my two cents!

2d puzzlers aint a bad idea. Not my usual cup of tea but I'd probably do at least one.

How about we make a ripping project for "Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 Professional"??
its a fun game and i couldnt find any useful rips anywhere on the internet!
i already ripped a few things like monster icons but there are almost 500 monster animations waiting to be ripped...
if we finished all pokemon animations from B/W we could give this one a try right?
AND i can share my savegame for desmume + i have a savegame editor so you dont need to catch and fuse the monsters yourself
what do you think?

Even if thats not the next official project, you should start that one yourself dude. I'm sure a few people would hop on that bandwagon
I agree with Belial. As an aside, how similar is that game to the original Dragon Warrior Monsters on Gameboy? I loved that game.

Also agreeing with that. If it plays like the first one then I'd be in for helping, I played that game straight for 10 hours (whoops) on my flight home from Japan. Epic game.
I would love to, but there would be two problems:
1: DS Emulation. While playstation emulators can play fine on my laptop, it would be hell to even start up a damn rom.
2: Tools. I don't know much tools, so that's out the window.
But again, I'm up for a Shoot 'em Up project.
Yeah i'm pretty useless when it comes to anything outside genesis/SNES. :p

I'm still in favor of my Simpsons games suggestion, but what about educational games?
II do have a few DOS educational games that I've been meaning to finish. And I'd love to see someone rip a Carmen Sandiego game.
