Puggsy (Genesis/32X/SCD)

Told you I'd do it Wink Not much but I'm just picking up where I left off, ripping enemies by zone. It's been a wee while since I've done these sort of rips so I might be a bit rusty, if anybody notices something I should change feel free to speak up.

By the way, I just noticed that Genesis has been merged with 32X and Sega CD. There's also a Sega CD version of Puggsy, and although I'm pretty sure that they use the same sprites, it does have a couple of extra bosses. If I were to rip those, would I add them to the same game, or should I make a separate game for the Sega CD version?

Well, considering we merged the consoles, we could just add them to the existing one. If I were you, I'd just add a thing to the sheet that says "XXX is only in the 32x version!"

That's Darkblade Forest done. The hooded figure (which I realised while ripping is also a raccoon!) also appears in a cutscene, although I'm not sure if it's exactly the same sprite and/or whether it has the same palette. Unfortunately cutscenes aren't replayable and I can't remember when exactly this one appears (so I don't know when to look in a playthrough). However I'm planning to replay this sometime soon so I'll check it then, if it is the same sprite then I'll add a note.

By the way, since he's a raccoon (or appears to be, judging from a snout I noticed protruding from the hood), would it be better to add him to the Raccoons sheet? Or shouldn't I bother?

As far as I can tell, these are the last of the zone-specific enemies; the rest are all enemies (or enemy types) that are found in multiple zones, each of which will get their own sheets like Raccoons (Mice, Bears, etc).

Now that I've checked out all the enemies in the game though, I've realised that there are a couple of mistakes in my past sheets that I'll have to fix. For example, I realised that the mouse with the bag of flower in the Badger Mill Enemies sheet should go in the Mice sheet I'll be making, and I also noticed that there is another type of seagull at the Raclantis Docks (in addition to the ones in the Cove). So I'll fix those once I get round to making those sheets.

By the way, I also noticed that there are some clouds in Splinter Town that spawn from chimneys and can hurt you. They have eyes and as such kind of deserve to be enemies, but on the other hand you can't kill them and there are an infinite amount (they come from the chimney and float into the sky). To me they seem more like a hazard (similar to fire) and seem more fit to be in a environment/background sheet than an enemies one. Anybody have a suggestion which would be the best course to take?

Are the chimneys sprites or just animated tiles?

Well, they're not on a sprite layer, and seem to be a part of the rest of the house. They're not animated at all, and neither are the clouds; they just appear at the end and float upwards. The clouds are on a sprite layer though.

Crayon Physics Deluxe (Mobile Phone)

It's been over a month since my last submission, I've been terribly busy with school and simply haven't had the time to do any ripping. I managed to whip this up quickly to test out the new feature that gives you a code to post the linked icon on the forum, and it looks like it's working. This will certainly be handy once I can get back into ripping lots of stuff!

This is it for the time being though. I may be able to rip other quick stuff like this every now and again, but not much else. In about 2 months or so (around early/mid December) I should hopefully have a chunkload more time and then be able to rip some more Puggsy, make a Bastion organiser, continue with making those BiS sheets, and probably lots of other stuff. See you then!

I'm back! Well, sort of. It's still gonna be a while before I can get into a proper ripping rhythm, but I do have more time on my hands than before and can probably start submitting bits here and there again. Hopefully I can get back to work on Mario Battle for BiS as well Wink

Fun fact: the HD ball sprite is at 100%, and the non-HD one is scaled up (without a filter) to the same size. So this shows the literal difference between the two.

Great game, great sprites. For now I'll just do Ky and all the guardians I've encountered, that's about all I can do while guaranteeing I don't accidentally run into some spoilers. Once I've finished the game I'll do the rest.

I was wondering whether I should put the guardians in their own category, but I decided against it. There aren't really that many characters, and some guardians do have other roles in the plot, so this seems like the best choice. I don't think it matters much anyway.

OK, that's all for now. I think I only have 2 more floors to go though (plus any sort of super-final floor/boss that might pop up, not sure), so hopefully I should finish the game before too long and rip the rest.
