So Nintendo's E3 Press Conference starts on the 5th, correct?

Yup, 9:00 AM on the West Coast, 12:00 PM on the East Coast.

And uh... Sorry I don't know about the English folk.

Yep, 6/5 at 9am PDT. And I guess the "software showcase" is 6/6 at 6pm PDT. (I'm reading it from an email I got a few minutes ago)

I'm really worried about Castlevania on the 3DS. I mean I didn't care about the series too much on the consoles as there hasn't been a good 3D Castlevania since... erm... well you get my point. Lords of Shadow wasn't what any Castlevania fan really wanted, but it was still one of the better 3D ones (which isn't much of an achievement).

But the "Metroid-vania" games were pretty good, and it would be a great shame if the series on the portable systems became just a less graphically powerful version of the console games. I don't really care that it's in the Lord of Shadows history but quite concerned for the game itself.

From what I've heard, the 3DS one will use 3D models, but it will play like OoE.

Super Mario Galaxy 3, PokePark 3, and Pikmin 3. Who's with me?
Thanks for everything, VG-Resource! But's it's time for me to move on to new adventures! (2011 - 2024)

The PSP one (Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles) used 3D models and it looked god-awful, as soon as I unlocked the option to change it back to sprites I did.
The 3DS may have more power in it but I can't see it looking too much nicer, and defiantly not as nice as some quality sprites.

And well I know it sounds dumb but I would love to see a Galaxy 3 on the Wii, not Wii U - as Mario games have to change name on each console, Bros, World, Land etc. (Yes I know Super Mario World was SMB4: SMW in Japan but stop being a smart-ass).

Having another Mario trilogy (where you can play as Mario - yes I'm excluding the Mario Land series from this honour) would be kinda cool. Never going to happen, specially as well - the Wii U is round the damn corner, but would still be cool.

I think I'd rather have a more cohesive setting for the next Mario game, like in Super Mario Sunshine. I've had enough platforms in outer space for now.
Super Mario Hell.

Mario dies and gets sent to hell and has to battle the devil to get back home, only to realize that the mars space station has already been infested with the legions of Hell.

Why would you want a new PokePark when Pokemon Snap 3ds would be the best game ever

Or pokemon snap WiiU where the controller is the camera. I'd be fine with either.

That would be awesome. Especially with the way Pokemon Dream Radar looks so far, they could probably make a version for both the 3ds and the WiiU. It'd be nice to see Pokemon Snap come back. Smile

Where the 3ds/ WiiU controller is the camera, and you have to move the contoller around the room as if you are looking around the scenes. It would have a lot of potential.

The problem with Galaxy was that it didn't have environments I could explore or immerse myself with. It was just floating crap in space.

Oh sure you could make an argument that "No they had awesome worlds! They had a lava world and an ice world!"

Yeah the lava world was just lava crap floating in space, and the ice world was ice crap floating in space. They didn't FEEL like real worlds but a specialized obstacle course... in space.

Thing is, Mario games are too linear.

Especially when they really don't need to be; they don't have a huge detailed story (even SMS had a loose story)

I'd like an open-world Mario game where /you/ have to find the stars in whatever order (with a final boss after x number of stars), maybe with a loose story

Well that's pretty much Sunshine then. I was hoping they'd go even further in the direction Sunshine was going.
