In that case, it certainly is fitting that Primal Moron ended up becoming a punching bag in Gors' game.

If only i could do that with my worst enemies... >:) I applied the edits to the whole animation, but, because Imgur is being difficult with it's "enter the words seen below" system. I decided to show you guys without a gif image Thanked by: E-Man, Crappy Blue Luigi, Chris2Balls [:B]

I'm incredibly excited that this project is back up again (like seriously this has made my Spring Break), but there should be more posts about work on the project than reminiscing about old members who aren't here anymore :U
Here's my word bubbles, fight icon, and I updated my mugshot (new on left). ":U" is the taunt one (should vibrate quickly) "G-GUH" is the lose I think the large ones are encounters? I'm going to do a lose animation and taunt one soon! Should I have multiple mugshot expressions?

So is the idea of a Gogni O' Meter still in effect for combos?

I made a walking animation. It looks weird to me actually. (Dat cape). I would like to know how I could make this look better.

Well, you weren't kidding when you said it looked weird…
For one thing, the legs are not bending at all. As for the other thing, it really looks like your feet are sliding across the floor instead of actually having them pick up from the ground and have to drag and drop forward. Look at some walk cycles for characters and see if you can do something to fix that.
Well, for one, the knees aren't moving!
Take a look at some of the walking frames here and see if it gives you a better idea of what you should be looking for. Also, you have like twice the amount of frames necessary for movement. Most animations should be kept to 4 frames, not just for simplicity but also for consistency's sake. The other movements are more choppily hand-drawn rather than smooth tweens of parts. It's tedious, but redrawing is much more rewarding than moving parts. Go for dynamic rather than smooth! ((mine is outdated here, but take note of the other walking animations in motion)) Thanked by: E-Man, Crappy Blue Luigi, Iceman404, Zadaben, Tellis
Anyway, Mario360, while you go ahead and "fix" the frame rate and do something about bending those legs, you think you can also make your head move? I know that not all of the characters have their heads move in their walk cycles, but not having your head move at all looks awkward and unnaturally stiff.
By the way, while we are working on this project, would you mind if I begin working on my assist and maybe rack my brain for some ideas for additional assists?

You mean like bob up and down? or rotate a bit? Just do it! There's no use bringing up what you're going to do. Give us something to provide feedback on. The reason most of these projects die is because everyone just talks about what would be cool, but nothing's actually produced. Before we go crazy coming up with ideas, let's at least solidify a few. Gors and Nicktendo have some, and if you want to be an assist, go ahead an make it so we can help you. Thanked by: Crappy Blue Luigi, E-Man, Iocus, Tellis

Actually, I was thinking of rotating it left and right because the head bop might be a little too distracting if that was down at the same time. Anyway, Baegul, you're right about what you said. It's rather silly for me to ask before I just do something. I guess that's just a side effect of having to restrain myself after doing actions on other web sites that some users didn't like… Alright, I'll start off by suggesting three possible assists to use. Tell me way you think of them, OK? Kevin Triebel: The infamous green guy appears and has his poorly sprited Mario enemies wander the field. He is not the strongest assist because his enemies hardly do any damage and you can actually kill Kevin himself (his death animation is him spinning in place using 90 degree rotations). Vinn: Despite his unwillingness to listen to others to improve his skills, he packs a major punch by wandering the battle field and planting pine cones that grow into towering trees with large trunks. Not only do they act as barriers, but they also heavily damage a fighter that ends up getting lifted by the tree suddenly popping out. Ton: The beloved site admin lives up to his species by slowly walking up to a fighter and stabbing the fighter with a knife for an instant kill. Considering how slow he moves and the range and speed of the knife attack, avoiding Ton is pretty easy to do. By the way, I'm not sure if you guys mentioned it already, but I think it would be cool to incorporate Dazz in the game in some form. Thanked by: Crappy Blue Luigi

Ton is fine because he does it in a way that doesn't give the opponent an unfair advantage, but the moment you summon Kevin that you lose is a bit unfair. ….. Or, better yet, we could have Kevin as an icon on the pause menu that is next to the option "Forfeit Match." Here's what the description would be. "By using the green guy, you instantly lose this game by breaking the site's biggest taboo. Do you dare use Kevin and ultimately quit the match?" |
