#1
[Image: Pokemon.png]I made this a little bit ago, and would appreciate feedback, as I am new at the pixel art thing.

It needs some work, but it's pretty good for a new spriter!
My main crit is that it needs significantly more contrast.

Also I think it would be cool to make the Cyndaquils less piled-up and more MC Escher-like

Yep, definitely needsmore contrast and some lines could be tweaked; the ear looks chopped off. Also, his arm looks really straight, Cyndaquil's snout seems a tad thin.

There isin't any form of shading on it, which makes it look flat, and boring. Put some shading on it to give it a sense of depth.

There actually is shading, it's just so subtle that it's barely visible.

also I know this would mean completely reworking the sprite, but you need to consider Cyndaquil's flames as actual flame. It should be brghter, with saturated colors and it should cast light on the person near it.

Was this at all inspired by Paul Robertson's bidof gif?
anyway you should get rid of that photoshop lens flare effect, emulating the same effect with actual pixeling could be intresting

Yeah it was inspired by Paul Robertson, lol. Anyway, more contrast, and yeah I had a bit of trouble with Cyndaquil. I'm not so good at shading yet. Anyways, thank you all for the feedback, it means a lot!

Be sure to check out the spriting dictionary too!
I also seem to notice that most everything has a consistent light source except the trainer's hat. Underneath the brim, it looks like his face is illuminating it, and the rest of the hat looks to be lit from behind, so you'll want to fix that as well. Otherwise not too bad aside from what everyone else's said. I'm impressed with how smooth your lines are for a beginner.
