Would anybody happen to have a save state of LoZ: Oracle of Seasons, in which you've done most of the dungeons but haven't finished the trading game? Basically, I want to get the sprite of Guru-Guru when he hands over the phonograph, since I noticed that it's missing from the sheet on the sheet on the site. I'm pretty sure that's the only time you get to see the sprite, since he seems to have a spare phonograph which he whips out after the trade.
Alternatively, if anyone knows how to get the sprite without the sprite actually showing in-game that would suffice too. I haven't ripped from GBC before so there could be another method I don't know about.

Make a savestate with Guru-Guru on-screen. Add ".gz" at the end (you have to have file extensions unhidden) and open with WinRAR or any archive program that supports GZip. Open the resulting with yy-chr (or anything that supports planar, like Tile Molester). You'll have to increase the offset by 4 but other than that, you're good. To align the tiles to make it more visible you need to have the block size as 8x16 which would be 1x2 in TM and FC/NES x16 in yy-chr. If you're lucky it's part of his regular sprites and not some event set (which Impa, Zelda, Ralph and some others have).
Doofenshmirtz: This is a little bit awkward but have you seen my escape jet keys? (Perry nods) What, you have? Well that's great! So where are they? (Perry looks away) You won't tell me? Is this because you don't speak or are you just being a jerk?

Well, I followed your instructions as well as I could, but I can only manage to find sprites for Link, Maple, Ricky, Moosh, Dimitri, Subrosians (just normal, not carrying anything), and a few enemies. These are all together, about in the middle, but before and after that all I see is meaningless jumble (apart from a couple of recognisable tiles and icons).
Also, I'm only getting it in Gameboy-ish palettes, that is, not proper colours.
I'm pretty inexperienced with tile viewers in general so I'm probably doing something wrong.

Open the savestate in yy-chr...the savestate.

Aha, right. I tried that before but I didn't see anything usable so I thought you meant open the ROM then load the state using "Load Emulator State". I probably forgot to change the format then though, checking again I can see what I need:
Not perfect but I can probably get the whole sprite by tweaking the offset. What about the colours then?

Go to the Palette Viewer in the emulator and Save OBJ. Load that with the Open Palette option in yy-chr. Also have it as PAL, not PAL+SET.

I actually tried that after I posted that I'm only getting this though:
I tried selecting other bits of the palette but they're all giving weird results. Sorry if this is all obvious stuff.

Okay, you're using a different version than I am and that is the problem, the one you're using is a rewritten version that doesn't allow for certain things.
Download this: http://www.geocities.jp/yy_6502/
This is the last release of the non-NET version which will open the PAL file correctly.
I checked with TiledGGD (the various palette options are the easiest tool to check with) and the way the palette is viewed between the 2 releases was changed drastically. I don't know enough of the NET version so I don't know if it can be changed.

Well that link didn't work, but I found the latest non-NET version. In any case it works awesomely now, thanks a lot!

I was about to say "right click, "Save Link/Target As..."", but then when I opened the archive it said it was broken or damaged so oh well.
If anything I would use TM or TLP for tile ripping instead of YY-CHR but hopefully I still have the right version anyways.

It's because the site doesn't allow hotlinking. I've changed the link to go to the site itself, pretty easy to navigate through.
