Love the grep sprites. As for the Mario jumping thing, I wouldn't bother with a crouch prior to the jump for the reason you stated. Having it there could add an awkward delay with the jump.

oh hey hello
the bigger one was for fun, and the smaller ones up top I'm trying to get into a game, since the original sprites I made are iffy. kinda went for a Scott Pilgrim style. EDIT: also, I tried to do that "hair shine line" that the SP sprites use, but I never got it to look right, so now I'm stuck with the spherical glare thing.

I appreciate the movement in the legs and how the knees actually bend. But as Blackfeather pointed out the same can't be said about the forefronted arm.
His apparent "shoulder?? >> turns into an elbow (technically??)", well it's static and makes it seem odd. And with this big of a sprite you could go so far as to moving around other parts of the body like his head. A side question, is that is hair or is he wearing a brown helmet? Unless it's meant to be a mystery might I suggest making a distinction.

here are a few recent heavy edits - and here's some stuff from a project - I am going to willingly admit that I really am not good at angled movements as seen in the above sheet. also, the good ones are the ones on the right side, not the M3 edits

the down walking animation's legs are rather extreme, have you tried animating it? it looks like a wacky tap dance of sorts. the arms seem longer than usual in the diagonal sprites, too.
I think I may have fixed it.
EDIT: I noticed the legs were pretty gross in the angled walk so I touched it up Thanked by: Sengir

HIS left hand in the diagonal walking animation gets too big,

Looks pretty sweet! My only complain is that it's a bit jumpy, if you get what I mean. Awesome anyway.
