Pretty good, but just one thing is bothering me. When Boo covers its face when looking at Mario, it's mouth should be shut.

I don't think people were finished critiquing it though. I'm not sure why you posted this since, and no offense, you even said yourself it wasn't ready to be submitted. I would suggest working on it more and posting the update later.
also, the icon text has the wrong font, next time please make sure it's Verdana size 7, non-anti-aliased.
