I love you all to death (Just so I can smash bros with you) (SSBWiiU/3DS)
wow im loss at why trophies are now such a big deal. who cares if you want both trophies of phosphora and saria. thats not even the main focus of the game.

in pokemon, its different because its actually significant to trade pokemon to complete the pokedex, since each version contains their own pokemon. not only that, pokemon is a handheld game so its pretty easy to trade with a pokemon. i wouldnt want to be carry my tv around saying "hey do you have the phosphora trophy???". it just doesnt work with consoles

if you want to collect all the trophies, buy both games. Simple as that.
I've honestly been thinking that trophies could be removed from Smash Bros. all together and made a more central part of Nintendo games, working similarly to the stamps in 3D World. Trophy Gallery could be an app for the Wii U and 3DS, and you could earn the trophies throughout the games. This would give the Trophy Gallery a lot more diversity and depth as a "What's What" of Nintendo's franchises, and if the app survived for several generations, it could serve as a neat way to remind people of awesome games from the past.

that would be a good idea but we sorta have this thing called the internet, where you can look up the certain characters and learn way more than in trophies. plus, it would end up like pokedex 3d pro, and we all know how successful that was.

I guess when you hear of a game that's supposed to unite all of Nintendo's most beloved characters, on the most iconic locations, to the most memorable soundtracks, you expect it to all be Smashed together in one epic ceremony of clashing fists and frantic feet.

Its a symphony of Nintendo. United in one game. That's the way I always saw it, that's why I was so opposed to keeping certain content in one game and not the other.

Luckily he was smart enough not to have different fighters for each version. Imagine if I could only play as Mega Man on the console version and Sonic on the handheld?

and now you have TWO games that unite all of Nintendo's most beloved characters, on the most iconic locations, to the most memorable soundtracks, smashed together in two epic ceremonies of clashing fists and frantic feet.

just one has an overarching theme of console titles, while the other has an overarching theme of handheld titles.

Koopaul you're getting TWO Smash Bros games. how is that not awesome.

Correction, now we have two games that unite all of Nintendo's most beloved characters, on HALF of the most iconic locations, to HALF of the most memorable soundtracks in two split ceremonies.

Are you getting it? Smash Bros is about uniting things right? Then why divide it in half? Why must each game only see half of Nintendo's story? Why not make it one big complete collection of everything united in one game?

With Smash one minute you could be on a Twilight Princess stage and the next minute on a Mother 3 stage. It was all there, I didn't need to switch from console to handheld to get the full Nintendo experience.

What if I really end up loving the Spirit Tracks stage and want to fight my friends on it? Well I can't! They don't own a 3DS. If it was also on Wii U then it wouldn't matter, they'd just grab a controller and join me.

Seperating things in a series where things are supposed to come together is a bad idea.

Let me put it this way. What if there were two Who Framed Roger Rabbit movies? It was exactly the same story with the same main characters, the only difference is that one movie features only Disney cartoon characters and the other movie features Warner Bros. characters. What would you say is better? One movie that features both Disney and Warner Bros. cartoons, or two seperate movies that feature them seperately?

Keep in mind that Sakurai has not yet elaborated on the already confirmed Wii U-to-3DS communications. For all we know, owners of both titles can trade trophies/stages/songs between the releases.

koopaul, youre making it sound like we're getting half of it when we are really getting double of stages/songs/etc. . theyre both unique versions that have their pros and cons. plus, they arent EXACTLY limiting it to each system. like that kid icarus stage in the wii u version. or the 3ds version containing little macs stage. version exclusives arent things you should get pissed about, especially since they've been around for a while. if you the idea of the original smash bros formula and like hd-ness, then get the wii u version. if you like playing games where ever you go and battle people anywhere, then get the 3ds version.

what im saying is that if both were the same game, i doubt people would buy the 3ds version.

Koopaul is always like that. No use trying to change it now.

So, Cucco. This has been a fan-favorite idea for a while. I'm glad Sakurai had the same idea/has been browsing websites that fans post on.

If Magikarp shows up and you can pummel it to turn it into a Gyarados, there will be no question that he's been looking at fan ideas. :p

I was thinking the cuccos would make a great final smash for Toon Link but this might be better.

Speaking of Final Smashes, you think the fighters would keep their original ones? I hope that's not always the case because I don't want to see a repeat of the Landmaster trio.
