I've been at 21 rep forever and while that doesn't matter in the slightest, I've decided to make a game out of it. So, here's the deal. I'll be gone for the next two weeks. In that time, you all will have one simple goal - get me to exactly 200 rep. I jokingly talked about this with Dazz but it actually seemed like it could be pretty amusing when I gave it a bit more thought.

Here's how it works. At the time of this posting, I need a total of 179 more positive rep to hit 200. The rules are simple:

1. You can use any amount of rep your account allows.
2. The net total must be +179 but both positive and negative rep can be used.
3. You have until I return on August 13th 5 PM my time (East Coast, US) to make this happen.
4. Updated rep counts. It's all about timing so if you've already repped me, updating it (and optionally changing the value) will put you back in the running. Just make sure to mention this contest in your update.
5. Bonus points if the winning rep is positive.

Now, why did I mention both positive and negative rep? Well, whoever happens to be the one to cause that magical 200 to appear will win a prize (I have no idea what that prize is yet but you can discuss it here - I'm open to suggestions). This aspect is why I thought this could be fun - it could turn into a little battle as it nears the end.

If I'm under 200 by the deadline, nobody wins anything. If I'm over, I'll go back and see who got in before 5 PM and figure out the winner from there. You have a little over 14.5 days. Have at it!

1. Steam Game (Value TBD)

P.S. This is 100% against the rules and nobody else should ever do it. I know I'm setting a horrible example here but I've been working hard and am making an exception for myself to have a little fun

Well, since I've already repped you, looks like this is boring for me. It is an interesting idea though.

I wonder if it'll work. 179 is no small number and those who do have over 100 rep got it over the span of at least a year, lots of it from members who came and went.

Hmm... I hadn't considered people who already repped me or who do it early. There's not much incentive. So, to make it a bit more fair, updates now count as long as this contest is mentioned in the updated text.

I set the target high knowing it would be difficult to reach. 179 is actually a greater jump than the current maximum amount of rep any account on the site has. Keeping that in mind though, if it doesn't seem like there's enough active users to make this happen, I will lower the goal.
