ZXC: Zelda X Castlevania

It's my first fan-game(here)! In this Fan-Game, Zelda and Castlevania combine to make a new platform adventure! Made in Game Maker!

Background

What started as a proof-of-concept(at least to my knowledge) of using only one player-object to make two player characters in Game Maker, became it's own fan-game when I realized the severe lack of split-screen 4-player fan-games(or PC games in general).
Plus I wanted to do something Castlevania and Zelda at the same time and...ZXC!

Story

*None yet*
(Probably won't be one)

Gameplay

Move, jump, duck and attack with your weapons to get through the stage!
Each character has a different main weapon, but anybody can get any of the sub-items.

Features

Characters and items from both the Zelda series and Castlevania series.

Picking up stuff

Four-Player splitscreen Co-op(hope you have enough controllers! Use joy2key or something).

For what you got so far, the sprites and sound effects, are really good! I think you should keep going with this idea! I bet it will turn out awesome!

Now, I've finished choosen' the main characters that will be playable:

From left to right: Link, Zelda, Richter and Maria.
The main weapon will be different for each character:

Link will use his sword(the shield will be a sub-item)

Zelda will use magic(sounds pretty vague, but I know exactly what it will look like)

Richter will use a whip(you WAS expecting that right?)

Maria will use birds(yup, she really does run around flinging birds at vampires!)

Will the crossover reach beyond just Link/Zelda and game design?

I'm assuming the general tone will fit Castlevania's "Creatures of the Night" motif. Would ReDeads, Gibdoes, Dead Hands, and the like also make appearances?

Yes, the enemies will mostly come from Castlevania, and there will be some Zelda ones too(but not just the undead ones). The obstacles on the other hand will mostly be from Zelda, mainly the Four Swords/GBC games because they had the best stuff.
Not sure about the tone of the game though, the levels'll probably be Zelda-like at first but get darker and more Castlevania-like as the game continues.

Sounds good.

I dig your sprites too, so I'm really looking forward to seeing this develop further.

(Yes I know how unbalanced the Zelda X Castlevania part looks; can't figure out how to fix it)

Picking up stuff will NOT be in the game anymore(sorry Link, no pot throwing for you)

And...Link needs a voice, but which one?
