Kirby 3DS

Oh yeah... I almost forgotten about the Mirror and Tornado abilities. Well, Tornado is good for avoiding damage, but it isn't perfect. Not only is it a little hard to control, but it doesn't last long. As for Mirror, even though the barrier resists a lot of attacks, it doesn't work on all attacks. I can't remember any off the top of my head, but at least Mirror has factors to balance it out.

Like Tom is saying, if you're good with an ability, though, you'll have no trouble finding exploits that make it very useful. While there are plenty of attacks that are extremely powerful and/or make you temporally invincible to damage, based on my experience with each ability, the steep learning curve balances them out. For example, while Jet is as shockingly powerful as most people make it out to be, who would honestly want to deal with getting Kirby's "flight" ability replaced with an awkward jet that is hard to control?

Are you sure? I would demand a hefty "fee" if you ant any video game console I own... And I'm not talking money here!

I know this is pretty late, but what's the fee? Embarassed

Well, it's more or less the equivalent of your soul, actually.... Except not really.... It's complicated.

You have a good point, so let's return to talking about Kirby, shall we?

As far as returning bosses go, I wouldn't be surprised if Wispy Woods were to show up again. The tree always has a habit of making an appearance in one way or another (even if he has to appear as some giant Rook thing or only on the title screen) since he is a staple. I don't know about Lololo or Lalala, but if any other bosses would make a return, it would be Kracko. Besides, unless you count his appearnece as an item in Air Ride and a trophy in Brawl, Kracko has yet to make an appearance in a non-sprite game.

Epic Yarn is sprites?

That game was mostly created through the use of elaborate sprites and had little to none CGI models. "Kirby 3D" mostly depends on CGI models, so it's likely that Kracko would be a CGI model if he were to appear in that game.

You sure about that? It seems way too fluid to be sprites.

Well, you'll never know! For all we know about that game, everything is made out CGI models that are positioned and animated in a way to appear two-dimentional.

Still, if you ever tried to animate something using tweens (Flash is capable of it, but the Anime Studio line of applications specialize in tween animation), you would be able to create 2-D animation that is just as fluid as some of the sprites in that game.

I get what he's saying. Epic Yarn, even if it's 3D, attempts to mimic a flatter style as opposed to one with the depth that RDL has, and Kracko has onnly appeared in depthless games.

Wasn't expecting a new classic-style Kirby platformer so soon. Usually they get released very late on Nintendo systems, right when the system's successor is right around the corner. Still, color me excit- wait a minute

This game's gonna be called Kirby Triple Deluxe in Japan. Triple Deluxe. Triple D. 3D. I really love subtle wordplay like this.

Also, consider that the Japanese versions of Super Star and Super Star Ultra are called Super Deluxe and Ultra Super Deluxe, respectively. We may be getting a proper sequel to those two on our hands, with the helpers and "8 stories in one" thing and everything. The thought of that makes me more excited.

I wouldn't worry about that too much. Since the 3DS is pretty recent, I'm sure the handheld device has a few more years left in it.

You know, I never thought of it that way. Chances are that a certain king is going to play a huge role in this.

Whether he's a boss or a supporting character Dedede always shows up. That's a given.

I'll be honest I'm really loving the way this game looks, I'm just hoping it brings something really fresh to the table aside from the shifting from the background to the foreground.

With the exception of the Amazing Mirror, it's already given that the D-Meister will make an appearance! Of course, since the title seems to be a pun on his name, I have a strong feeling that he is going to play a much larger role than he did in any other game.

Cool more Kirby! Here's hoping Nightmare or Dark matter returns.
