just something i'm working on..
I bet i know your favorite video game character, sevenstitch!

but yeah, i'll fiddle with it more. i'm using an old paint program, Paint Shop Pro 6, that's always been good to me for sprite work. = )

alternatively, press f1 while in the program

the help file outlines pretty much every basic function

Graphicsgale is a great program, and is worth the learning curve, which in my opinion is much smaller than other pixel art program alteratives

Plus it doesn't make much sense that she can become Zero Suit and still have a regular arm if it's cut off in the Power Suit.

The thing that bugs me though is not just in old sprites, but new ones and even some 3D media, the cannon arm is shorter than the non-cannon arm by a full hand (literally). Even if you made the cannon longer, it doesn't explain a lot of other things about how it works.

I guess if Chozodian technology can fit you into an armored sphere one third your original size, they can compress an arm or store it in a subspace pocket or something.

...? where do you see that? i've always seen the cannon arm longer. i think in smash bros. it's a little too short. definitely not Prime though, that thing is huge on there. i guess there was some official art with bad proportions though. any sprites you find though, they are all bigger than the other arm.i would scour the internets for proof, but it takes too long and i'm annoyed at my sprite not going well with the cannon. Other M's cannon is a little too small imo.

wooo! i'm on the right path! *is happeh..and buzzed!* i'm glad i can actually do this if i'm not distracted..usually when i'm at home i can't do it at all, either b/c i'm trying to take short cuts and dunno how to, or i'm doing other stuff. i can't wait for this to be finished! who knows, maybe i'll do the whole sprite sheet! ...When pigs fly! i don't have THAT much patience, even IF a lot of sprites have the same positions!

That sprite is actually looking pretty good! Making high-definition sprites isn't always easy and I'm impressed that you managed to make it this far!

Anyway, to help you get more ideas on how to create those kind of sprites, why don't you look at what Koh did to give you further inspiration?

it's ok to suck, sucking is not bad, just try and aim to always do your best!

yeah i saw that! i thought those were pretty good. basically things have to be reshaped and made sense out of when doing this. thanks for the complements!

ps, i've never understood why they gave link pink hair. SURELY there could have been a better choice. suuuurely....>_<

some more work. holy crap this cannon is going to be really detailed..

oh, i forgot, this is some really old work i did. I made X have his X2 armor in the newer iteration of him. i think there is too many colors by accident, but i dunno if i want to go back to it and fix it. i knowi should edit the hues now that i know about it if i ever decide to.

....holy shit. that looks like samus's cannon. i'm on my way, guys and gals, sorry for the many replies, i'm just excited and want to show my progress

is there a way for you guys to cut/delete the drama of this thread so those that look here aren't scared away by it, and just leave the useful parts..? maybe "spoiler" the posts so they're still there if anybody wanted to read it or something..? I could start a new thread, but some things i'd have to re-post, like my Jason's characteristics and such.

oh, here's better sprites of what Super Smash Flash 2 has now of samus...lots better than me.

i hope i can make my jason that good at some point, i'll have to start over really, since he's way too dark...and it seems there's more freedom in color amount and looks great. I still have to understand hueshifting some more to get to that point.

here's this, but i have to redo it due to the light being in the wrong place x-x [Image: ATB8Kqt.png]

[Image: 9sgv9BZ.png] i guess this will work..i feel the other looked better, but there's not much i can do with the detail i put in there; the darkest green wouldn't allow the lines to be able to be seen.
