Good luck with that.
This because basically that's this entire forum.
Once upon a time, one of our most significant content creators (and administrator!) Gors made plenty of projects, with the intention that someone would take his work and help him make it into a game.
Most of the time, they never did.
So Valiant Spriter Gors took it upon himself to learn Game Maker's functionality and now he's barreling along on his first game project.
Gors can also draw, make 3D models, compose music, speak three languages, and yodel.
"Wow! That's amazing!" you're probably saying, "How can I be so prodigal like Gors?"
The key, Half a Mind, is ambition and passion. If you really wanted to create a game, you'd stop making stuff in MS Paint and you'd download GameMaker Studio, and tinker for a bit. Your ambition to create a game should be enough to get you started.
Of course, if you don't have the motivation to create your own game, you should probably just stop spriting as well.
Or, likewise I can collaborate with -¼- and come up with the characters, enemies, setting, plot, and game mechanics.
That's right - I'll do all the thinking for you! You don't have to do jack shit and I'll literally think up all your assets while you sit around and play video games! I don't sprite, I don't program. I'm a professional thinker. If you want my resume, look at the PSX Jump n' Flash! games. I thought up of everything in that game but I'm not listed in the credits because "advisor" wasn't a real role in a game dev team in 1994. I'm a one-man think tank. Since I'm a pro at it I don't work for free either. Here's my prices:
Characters - $10 per story-rooted character, $5 for each minor character and enemy
Setting - $25
Plot - $30
Game Mechanics - $10 per hour of brainstorming game mechanics (this is difficult and I usually need a snack, so I might add a gratuity fee)
Of course, it's up to you if you want to hire -¼- and I... or, you and your friend could just learn to program. You
are a team, after all.
