OLD THREAD
So the forum got a clean up. Guess I gotta make another thread!
So I've been working on this Zebesian lately. Didn't change much since I first posted it but whatever.

Looks pretty good~ Is that how you generally make the groundwork for your larger sprites; ink blots? Would you recommend that to others?

Well, it does help you plan out how your sprite will be structured, and helps you focus on each separate segment easily. I'd assume it'd also be a life saver if you plan to animate your sprite, but I haven't gotten so far.

Simply amazing. The only thing I can really say is the neck isn't easily distinguished from the topmost portion of the body.

Well, I tried redoing the neck entirely to make it more alien like, and added some sexy alien abs.
He looks more buffed up than what I was expecting.

Clearly you are doing it by parts, so it's evident how this happened, but the lighting on the upper part of the neck seems out of place considering the head positioning and the implied light source. Looks great regardless!

That neck just keeps looking more and more gorgeous the more I redo it.

Major update. Altered chest area and arm, worked on waist, started on pincer and added palettes for the lulz.

Looking super good so far. I can't find any flaws as hard as I try. I can't even nitpick.

It looks great, but I think you should change the jaw a bit. Either make the whole thing darker or tone down the anti-aliasing, because now the AA looks a bit broken.

Fixed the jaw and finished the leg.

It's definitely coming along very nicely. Is this going to be used in a project, or is it just practice? And if it's to be used, how is it going to be animated? By moving parts ALA flash animation, or are you going to form each frame manually with your parts?
