I liked the Cadence of Hyrule sprites, so I started experimenting, using the Wizzrobe.
Mostly I just wanted to make a hooded Wizzrobe like the original NES version.

I guess my recent submissions got me on a kick of Metroid sprites, so here's a WIP NES style Zebesian. Thanked by: psykonaut

I might try to even make some edits so that they can have an idle/breathing animation if that's alright with you. I am looking to start a weekly series on youtube/deviantart/instagram that features custom sprites that I find online. Let me know if you are interested and I can tell you more! Here is a rough edit I did of what the episodes might look like in gif form: Like I said, it's only a rough sketch of what it might turn out to look like when I get it finished. My aim is to have a couple episodes ready for the first month or two, and feature custom sprites every week. Each episode is only going to be a minute long or less, so each sprite should have time to be appreciated individually. And, of course, I will give all credit where credit is due thanks for taking the time to read this and I appreciate any constructive feedback you might have. Thanked by: ProtoTroid X

I'm gonna say what I usually say in these situations and just tell you to make things from scratch. Making something from nothing will give you better results in the long run. I used to make them when I was a kid but now I'm 21 and got work and college and stuff lol so I can't invest nearly as much time as I would like to. Currently I'm just working on practicing and sort of getting my name out there in the sonic sprite community so it's really just a temporary recolor that I'm going to use as my sprite. I'm getting the help of some other ppl from the community to help me out. But mostly I just like to animate gifs of other people's sprites so it's going to be a while before I make a real character avatar. Most likely he's gonna look nothing like pink tails but will probably feature a bandana, hoodie, pants etc. but still be an edit of a character from sonic advance/sonic battle.

Actually I haven't been making a lot of independent work of my own until I got out of art school and put a slight stop to my college career for the moment being. Being 26 and knowing how you feel about hiatuses I kind of get that because for some time in middle school I stopped until I got back into it in my senior year and started doing things from scratch But with that said, be aware with editing! I know that it's kind of a craft thing and most people just do it for fun but on my end I try to nudge people into drawing things from nothing so to speak. Not cuz I want to discourage people from that but when you end up doing things without any sort of base to go by you can make far more interesting things without relying on pre made sprites It's not easy, no, but it yields better results.

NES Metroid enhanced. I really like how the Rippers, Sidehopper, Zeela, Geega, and the Norfair enemies came out. Not so sure about Skree, Zoomer, Rio, and Waver, though. Geruta looks good but doesn't feel like it matches the rest. EDIT Updated. Reo, Geruta, and Skree were given a complete makeover. Added Zebbo and Desgeega. Made slight adjustments to Dragon. Update 2. Mother Brain

It really bothers me there are so few Metroid customs, really, on the mainsite.
This cannot stand. Back with another round of NES Metroid Enhanced! ...I really had no idea what to do with either of the Viola enemies, their original sprites were weird and their artwork wasn't any better. Also introducing: Super Metroid exclusive enemy, the Alcoon, and Zero Mission enemy, the Baristute! Heavily reworked the Rippers, I quite like the new versions.

Trying out making some Dr Robotnik sprites in the style of Wario Land 4, but bigger.

Hi there anyone who reads me.
Me and a friend have created Pixel Craft Spotlight and we're looking for talented people who could help us in creating episodes. Specially in 2d River City Ransom fight sequences and other animations. This is what the episodes look like: https://youtu.be/OYW5AxDaNP8

Here's some front facing sprites I did of 3 characters in the Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story style. I love these games and hope my practicing of the style pays off for some pretty faithful customs. Thoughts? Note that these are all separate images and that each image is scaled differently, my bad..

What do you think of this style for Peach in SMW? I'm trying to get it's "fascinating" art style.
