LADIES AND GENTS!
4 Years ago in the lovely year of 2012, a game was started and died in the same year, that game was grow and the four transparent tiles that ignited a revolution

there is the thread for memory... I was a garbage spriter back then
Hello VGRians, I would like to invite you on a collaborated piece, there are no real rules beside knowing your limit of what you'd expect to offensive, (e.g.: the word "butt" is fine, clearly defined private parts aren't)
Well anydoo, here is Grow 2016... A four year thing... I guess????
original
current
the name of the game is to add onto this block and it grows altogether as each member adds their bit to the image

Okay, I'll bite.
I'll just give that box a nice little cushion to rest on.
Yup. Just a run of the mill, comfy cushion that in no way resembles a tank thread.

Oh maaaaan I've always loved Eyemaze's stuff! Here's a nice big trapezoid for your cube.
Also, one thing you should probably add to the OP is a reservation system. If you start drawing on the collab, you make a post that says "Reserved". Once you're done, you edit your post and add the picture. That way, only one person is working on the collab at a time and nobody's additions conflict. The people over on the Bay12 forums do this and it always works wonderfully.

I'll give this a shot...
have a bizarre monster/robot face for that trapezoid!
Hope I didn't do anything wrong?

Nah, you didn't do anything wrong. Now it's a giant scrappy robot!
Also, based on the bottom of the robot's treads, maybe we should go for a side-scrolling perspective?

NICE!
Well, what I was concerned about was perspective.
Perspective and Shading are my two weakest points as an artist
The original thread was in isometric, which I can do to a limited extent.
(hence why I chose a 'flat' face to work with)
I guess I'll reserve the next spot, I have something in mind, more or less...
edit:
Enter Boss: CreepyHead!
I used some gradients in this just to give it that extra level of effect.
Due to the usage of gradients and multiple layers, however, I also provide these in case editing proves annoying:

The floor also is brown now.
If anyone things they can fix the perspective of the creeper head side and bottom, please do.
Maybe it's just me, but it seems a bit off.
I think Ill sit back a while and see where this goes.

DarkGrievous7145, I'm gonna have to be honest, that does not look very good. There mixed pixel sizes everywhere and the gradients will make it impossible for people to add to the picture. I'd suggest starting over and adding something that is at least in the same pixel ratio as the robot. And refrain from adding background objects or enormous characters so people can have an easier time adding to the picture.

In most cases, I'd be extremely pissed and/or depressed as all ell if someone said that to me.
But, I totally agree.
What happened there was an undeveloped concept was developed into a full design in not a whole lot of time, and was actually re-designed at various points. Originally the plan was a doomsday setting with a creeper head sun. That became a giant creeper head of doom, and then the boss bar was added, cuz I was like, "screw it!"
The gradient was to give it that "ominous/doomsday" sort of feel.
It honestly shouldn't be that hard to add stuff, but then again, the usage of pure MSPaint or something would have this effect. I use paint dot net, so no backgrounds are gonna ever stop me from adding something to the foreground.
I increased canvas size to 600 x 400 because I was planning something big, thus wanted to give people more space to work with.
Only question/complaint I have at this point was "there's no rules besides don't use/draw profanity"

ok then
Fixed creeper head perspective, removed lingering parts of the background that were next to the boss HP bar.
Made creeper head have a 1px thick outline, and raised its face by exactly 8 pixels.
There was a reason for the thick outline at first, but I didn't carry through with what I was planning there.
Admittedly, it should have just had 1 pixel outline from the beginning.
so..
Is that better?

It's better, yes, but the gradient still sticks out like a sore thumb. I mean, this picture IS supposed to be entirely pixel art, at least for consistency's sake, so having gradients and the like kind of defeats the purpose.
Replace the gradient on the health bar, eyes and mouth, so as to stay more consistent. Also HOLY CRAP A MISSILE RUN.

got another in the works, this time no gradients.
hopefully people will like it
3 hours on a pixel art... ok then
I did get quite carried away.
I might do something with this, namely "my"* stuff
this alright with everyone?
@schalternate
Definitely like the eyes, but personally, I'd prefer the mouth to remain orange.
The idea more or less is that creep can breathe fire/lava or something.
p.s.
Is the payload on that missile nuclear?
anyways
Added minions: ice, plasma, nyan
added effects for all minions
Added door on bottom of boss for minions (or anything) to pop-out of.
Beware the light balls of DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
*Since my stuff has been edited a few times, lol, not exactly 100% my own anymore! XD

Everyone knew of Howard's many talents. Aviation, Directing, Philanthropy, but no one knew of his ability to summon Hercules the Deco demon
