"I'm too old to talk to people about Mother 4 VGR peeps don't care what I have to say, I'll just wait till the game drops and I'm on the email list so i can start a new thread>"

"Don't even tell me this shit's for real and people are playing before me-!"

Mother 4 needs your help!?
*Scrolls down.*

TheGuy Said:

"We always prioritize quality over speed. We throw away NPCs. We scrap
songs. We redesign the UI until it’s right. We add more content. Work
and create, change and edit, toss and delete. Start again. That has been
our process and will be until the game is ready."
I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. You are literally setting this game up to never be finished with your design philosophy. The reason devs finish their games is solely because they set deadlines and must have a certain amount of work complete by a set date. Indie games struggle to get off the ground because of this reason, your ideal vision of the game is obviously something you want to see realised but it just isn't possible. You will never be happy releasing this game if you are perfectly fine with scrapping and redesigning elements whenever you come up with something more aesthetically pleasing or efficient etc.
Look at all of Mother 3's unused content, there's huge amounts of stuff that simply couldn't make it into the final build of the game and that's just the stuff that was left on the ROM file. It's a shame that Mother 3 was, from what we can tell, an unfinished product but the truth is this is true for almost every video game ever created including indie ones. Adding more people to this game's development may seem like a fine idea but you're stagnating the development by accepting more people that you can probably only contact over the internet and don't know personally and mixing that with a wonky design philosophy. Why would you ever think that would be a good idea?
Small edit; I am very excited for this game and I can see that a considerable amount of work has already been completed and it's very impressive. There are just too many fan/indie games that reach a certain point in development and then end up falling off of the planet due to bad design decisions and I fear it may be happening to this game too.

TLBig GrinR: I want Mother 4 now. If the games not really done that's one thing if it is just give it to the people it's not like you can't improve the game and take some pressure off yourself by release what is essentially a finished fan work.

Is it bad that I actually think it will be like this?
I try not to get hyped up for games anymore after one incident 2012 with one game that left a horrible taste in my mouth.

I expect it to be decent enough that my low expectations will find it enjoyable and fun rather than have mega high hopes and then after seeing it I would sit there and say...
"That's it...?"
