The Pixels Of Joxon

No, if he holds the sword up like that, he'll break his wrist. Holding it at that angle also makes the swing look weak, since it can't gain much momentum from that angle. It needs to be angled up and slightly back.

Something like this. I also extended the swing blur, rounded it out some more, and gave it a gradient similar to what's used in Megaman X. The swing also looks stronger because he holds it back, then swings it all the way forward.

Better? Oh and where did every one else go? It's not like I don't enjoy your company Midi, I guess I've just been having slow days. Smile :p

And I didn't realize this until I posted it but both the old ones first frames had noodle arms.

The raise frame looks much better, but the slash looks jagged. You need to work on rounding out your shapes.

The front of the slash is still really flat. Are you trying to constrain this to a certain width?

Yeah I'm trying to keep it 32x32 for the regular PBG sprites, and 48x48 for sword sprites.

Though I hadn't reached the limit yet. It was just flat.

There~! That looks much better! Will you be having different slashes, like Zero does? Or is it just chopping?

I plan on having just one type of slash like in the Zelda games. (EX: Link to The Past, first game, ect.) I do at least plan on different forms of attacking like bombs. Well, can you tell me how exactly Zero's slash type mechanic works?

First he does a short, horizontal slash, then a medium diagonal slash, then a really big vertical slash, each one reaching a bit further to compensate for knock-back.

Bombuh.

Left facing chop.

Throw. Basically a chop edit. The blur feels weird to me.

I think the arm in the last frame could be longer. Horrible range by itself.  Exclamation

Do you mean the throw or chop?
Just FYI he throws the object At the first frame. He throws it in between frame 1 and2.

ya know, it would be great to see this sword slash animated, because to me, i dont think 3 frames is a sufficient amount for a bigger sprite like that.

I would love to animate it, but because my only way of uploading images to imgur is through my iPod due to the fact that my PC is very slow on Internet, and I have no way of converting it to .gif. So would anyone mind posting a .gif for Mr. Recme here? Wink

Previous versions of Aseprite are free. Download one of those and make a GIF with it.
