If they're adamant about integrating human characters as more than a backdrop for like, Station Square or whatever, then I hope they at least make it an adaptation of Sonic X and use Chris so we don't have to be familiarized with a Sam Witwicky character.
Honestly I would prefer they drop the live action aspect and make this in sync with their Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter, and Ratchet and Clank films... Or an adaptation of the Archie Comics....

I'd totally be behind a second Generations game. Even if it were literally just the same story again with 9 different zones. That was honestly the best game they released in the last whoever-knows years, but their Zone selection in the original kind of sucked. (Four city stages? Seriously?!)
That said though, if they did make second one, I'd want it to be the last one. Don't make it a regular thing. And while I'm okay with a second Generations, I'd ideally like a whole new game instead, but only if it's at least as good if not better (a risky prospect).
You know what I would really like to see though? A complete remake of the original Sonic Adventure. And I don't mean taking the old game and polishing it up, I mean just keeping the base story and ideas but building the whole thing from scratch, completely re-imagining the zones like they did in Generations.
Because the thing about Adventure is that it's honestly got a lot of good concepts and a really decent story, but it's all completely ruined by the game's actual mechanics, haphazard level design, and poorly done cutscenes. And yeah, I get that it's a relic of its time, but I feel like there is a lot of strong potential there for something that could be really good even in modern day, but they'd just have to be willing to rebuild it from the ground up.
Anyways, that's what I think would make the perfect anniversary game. I know there's no way in heck it'd ever happen.

I think Sonic Colours Wii is the best sonic game.
It use all the puissance of the Wii, and the gameplay, graphics is incredible.
After I think it's Sonic Generations.

well to be fair, the fans were the ones who picked the stages via facebook, so that's pretty much their faults... hehe

Yeah I'm aware. That information actually makes it so much worse because it means Sonic fans have no taste for variety.

It means sega is pathetic. Can't even have the brains to choose what stages would be good for a game without holding fans hands. They don't have the balls to stick to something that friggin worked or be creative enough to build upon their own foundation, no. Instead, they build new ones and cross their fingers.
Sega if you're reading this pleeeeeaaase....

Or those stages just so happened to be the most memorable stages of their respective games.
You know, I never really got why having four city stages was such a big deal. I mean, yeah, it's kind of overkill, but the levels themselves are different enough (one's set in the night, another counts as a fire stage, one's got a festive theme to it and the other one was City Escape) as they are, so they at least had their own feel to them. Plus, their soundtracks were awesome.
It's definitely better than if they having multiple Green Hill clones in the game, for example.
One thing I'll say, though, the 3DS version was so underwhelming. It would've been cool if they actually had based their stages on handheld Sonic games. Oh, and have actual 3D stages for Modern Sonic, because if you're just gonna have both of them in 2D, why even bother.

I'd argue that Windy Valley was the most memorable Zone in Sonic Adventure.

This, getting sucked into a tornado in that game is a huge highlight in that zone and being forced to climb out of it was pretty fun.

I have the same concerns as everyone else regarding the Sonic movie. However, they could also take the Sponge Out of Water route and have the very clearly cartoony and animated characters in the real world while still maintaining the spotlight. They might not, considering it's Sony pictures, but they might, considering it's by the animation team who did the cutscenes for most of the recent Sonic games and the Night of the Werehog short.

I would have no problem if it was just some generic "city in trouble" story line. In fact I think they could make it fit. Eggman uses chaos control and appears in *insert popular US city here* and tries to build an eggman empire. Sonic and friends are also tekeported there and then proceed to stop him (basically sonic x except more common hollywood movie themed). There are 101 ways this can go wrong but I'm pretty confident they wont be that stupid...
Well....
Dont prove me wrong on this one...
