BBCode Generator
#1
So I was writing out all the BBCode for my model thread, and I was like "This is going to take forever!" So I decided to write up a quick script for doing that easily.

Basically, this is an update to an older script I had written in Python. I rewrote it in HTML so it could be easily accessed by any one who needed it. All you do is put in all the information it needs (Name, Download Link, and Big and Small images.) And it'll spit out BBCode.

What this script has is that you can do multiple submissions at once now. Up to five submissions at a time is supported. Currently it works, but I plan to have a more intuitive interface soon.

Anyways, here's a link to the script: BBCode Generator

Planned Updates
-----------------------
Different Submission Types
Other Types of Submissions (Sprites, Sounds or Textures)
A better interface for generating the BBCodes

Source code can be found here: Source

The site sort of has this built-in already. When submitting something, instead of clicking "Submit" click "Add Another", even if you're not going to submit any more. It'll show info about the sheet you just submitted, and also have some BBCode you can copy and paste.

On the other hand, unless you have instant approval it won't be a valid link until your submission is approved, and most people only post them once they have been approved. However, it's still a fair amount of work to copy/paste links into your tool, and I would personally prefer such BBCode to just be generated on sheet pages on the site itself. I'll go and suggest this now since I don't think it would be too difficult.

That said, your tool is probably pretty handy if my above suggestion isn't possible or is just rejected. You'd still have to do a bunch of copy-pasting but it would cut out the in-between stuff. It would also be helpful if people wish to link this way to submissions hosted elsewhere (like, if they want to share a submission that's still pending).

I definitely don't think it's a bad tool, I apologise if I seemed a bit harsh. If anything, it's certainly a good programming exercise Smile
You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call "failure" is not the falling down, but the staying down. -Mary Pickford

I didn't think that you were being harsh, I didn't know we already had something like that Shy
