Another UMC side-thread

well, with the UT data transformer fixed and UMC nearing it's first release in ages...
and yes, the transformer is finally fixed:

anyways, I have a poll up since I havn't been able to work on SIDE nor UMC's scripts and libs due to working on UMC's backend the entire time.
thanks for the help everyone (not directed at just this forum, but everywhere I'd asked for help and got nothing)
a few members have been the only ones just barely helping, Matt Sitton being the biggest with methods to make UMC more cross-platform, and Lars informing me of minor improvements.

for those users who don't have a Middle Mouse Button (MMB), I've mapped the Q key as an alternate option Wink
(just hold Q and move the mouse, works with shift and control as well) Wink
^don't use control, it's still as borked as usual Tongue

anyways, so I have a poll up regarding holding off the release of UMC to release it with SIDE:

so with that out of the way, I should have Sm4sh fully supported by the release Smile

as I was saying:

hey RTB, you know there's like 10x better ways to import the data than what you're doing right??
and that's including 3DS
the only difference with UMC is you don't need to do extra work:
- define data types/functions
- supply bone matrices
- pre-transform your vertices
- convert to triangles

writing a UMC-script is as simple as writing in OpenGL's FFP with python
(much simpler than writing scripts in Blender or Max)
^note Max is actually easier to write than Blender

but hey I can boast Tongue
after all, I built UMC's scripting interface to be the simplest to use out of everything Tongue
it's so simple you can actually have fun writing scripts for UMC Smile

I'm done boasting... lol

anyways, enjoy Smile

should probably mention I've had quite a few updates, with some issues regarding copy

a few of the updates can be seen in this image:

but other updates involve backend changes only seen in UMC's scripts.

I'm still fixing stuff up though, just found a bunch of issues while exporting this:

^I'm amazed normals are actually working properly here, but I still don't have a legit export format that supports bones
