Ripping audio from "Gex: Enter the Gecko"?
#1
I've taken an .iso of the game and opened it with PSound. I can play the audio files and listen to Gex's voice clips, but there's one problem: the audio only plays for about two seconds before cutting off. This makes it impossible to listen to any of the longer files, which is sorely disappointing.
Converting the files to .wav does nothing to fix this, as those won't play properly either.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? People have ripped voices from the first and third games in the series and I thought it was time for someone to try the second one.

Which version of PSound are you using? That was a problem with some of the older versions with certian games. The last stable version released was v2.0 last I checked.

Otherwise, check your settings. You may need to lower the Hz output or perhaps turn off/on auto looping? There may be other settings you can try too; unfortunately the best advice I can offer is either experiment or try a different ripping tool.

You should be able to use PSound to scan the .dat file and see if it finds anything it recognizes as an audio file.

That's what I did. I'm only able to hear one second from each sound file.

I just tried the game myself, and everything that PSound could play (mostly sound effects like bouncing noises) played fine for me at 14500 Hz. However, there was a lot that the program couldn't recognize at all and just spat out a file path that didn't exist, silence, or garbage. It could be that PSound can't read these files at all; you may need to find an alternate means of ripping them from the disc.
